How to Deactivate and Reactivate a User
When a team member leaves, deactivate their account rather than deleting it. Deactivated users cannot log in and are excluded from task assignment, but their work history is preserved.
Deactivating a user
- Go to Users in the left sidebar
- Click Actions → Deactivate User on their row and confirm
What happens
- The user is immediately signed out and cannot log in
- They are removed from all assignee dropdowns
- Any pending tasks remain — reassign them
Reassigning pending tasks
- Go to the user's profile page
- Click Reassign N pending tasks
- Select the user to reassign all tasks to
Reactivating a user
- Go to Users — deactivated users show as "Inactive"
- Click Actions → Reactivate User
- The user can log in again immediately
