How to Deactivate and Reactivate a User

When a team member leaves, deactivate their account rather than deleting it. Deactivated users cannot log in and are excluded from task assignment, but their work history is preserved.

Deactivating a user

  1. Go to Users in the left sidebar
  2. Click Actions → Deactivate User on their row and confirm

What happens

  • The user is immediately signed out and cannot log in
  • They are removed from all assignee dropdowns
  • Any pending tasks remain — reassign them

Reassigning pending tasks

  1. Go to the user's profile page
  2. Click Reassign N pending tasks
  3. Select the user to reassign all tasks to

Reactivating a user

  1. Go to Users — deactivated users show as "Inactive"
  2. Click Actions → Reactivate User
  3. The user can log in again immediately
