Understanding the Audit Trail

The audit trail is an append-only log of important admin actions in your BizFlow workspace. It helps with compliance, accountability, and troubleshooting.

Accessing the audit trail

  1. Go to Admin → Audit Trail in the left sidebar (admin only)
  2. The table shows the most recent 1000 entries
  3. Filter by action type, actor (who did it), or date range
  4. Search by free text across the action log

What is logged

Action When it is recorded
role_changed An admin changes another user's role (e.g. Member → Admin)
flow_published An admin publishes a workflow
flow_unpublished An admin unpublishes a workflow
step_reassigned An admin manually reassigns a pending step to a different person
step_escalated A step is escalated to a manager due to an SLA breach
user_deactivated An admin deactivates a user account
user_reactivated An admin reactivates a user account
tasks_bulk_reassigned An admin bulk-reassigns all pending tasks from one user to another

What is not logged

  • Regular task completions (these are in the flow event log, visible inside each instance)
  • User profile updates (name, avatar, job title)
  • Department membership changes

Notes

  • The audit trail is read-only — entries cannot be edited or deleted
  • Entries are scoped to your organisation only
  • Each entry shows the actor (who), the action (what), the target (which user/flow/step), and the timestamp
